Services and Booking

At Gradient Bike Shop - There are 3 Appointment-types:

  1. Onsite Service - We bring out the mobile workshop to you and perform all services at your residence. This is the most convenient and common appointment-type.

  2. Onsite Bike Pickup/Dropoff - We’ll drive to you, pick up your bike (or bikes) and will return ASAP to dropoff. Transit surcharges apply to both trips.

  3. Customer Dropoff - You bring your bike(s) to our home-shop. Expect longer turnaround time, so please advise if there is a need-by date! We’ll let you know when your bike is ready for pickup.

Book a time that works for you

  • You’ll need to provide name, address, phone#, email, and summary of bike-needs.

We’ll Text/Email you within 24-hrs after booking

  • You may need to provide pictures of the bike or complete a questionnaire regarding your bike-type, specs and repair-needs.

  • Depending on the job, we may adjust your appointment’s date/time/duration.

Cost-Estimates are provided before your appointment

  • Based on information gathered after booking, we’ll give an estimated cost for service.

  • Please understand - these estimates are made given limited information. If cost-adjustments are necessary upon inspecting the bike in-person, we’ll let you know immediately.

We take cash or credit/debit for payment after service

  • A digital invoice will be sent to you, which can be paid online or in-person.

  • A receipt is also texted/emailed to you.

Pricing:

The minimum labor charge for any job is $80.

Tuneups

Tuneup - Level 1 (Basic)

$90 - Single Speed (BMX, Cruiser, Fixie)

$130 - Geared Bikes (MTB, Road, Hybrid)

Best for bikes that are in good overall shape but need a refresh and safety check. Ideal for seasonal riders or regularly maintained bikes that just need minor adjustments to stay smooth and reliable.

  • Frame wipe-down & polish

  • Chain cleaning & lubrication

  • Brake & shift adjustment

  • Brake caliper/rotor alignment (if applicable)

  • Brake lever bleeds/burps (if applicable)

  • Tire inflation

  • Check saddle and stem alignment

  • Lateral wheel truing (on-bike)

  • Full safety inspection (fasteners, bearings, etc.)

  • Test ride

Tuneup - Level 2 (Performance)

$200 - All Bikes

Designed for bikes that are showing noticeable wear, feel out of adjustment, or haven’t been serviced in a while. This option is ideal when your bike needs more attention than a basic tune-up but isn’t quite in need of a full overhaul.

Everything in Level 1, PLUS:

  • Precision wheel truing in stand

  • Full hydraulic brake fluid flush (if applicable)

  • Drivetrain removal for deep cleaning or replacement

  • Tire rotation/replacement

Tuneup - Level 3 (Overhaul)

$$Varies - Reach out for an estimate!

Intended for heavily used, long-neglected, or higher-mileage bikes that need in-depth care. Perfect for restoring performance, addressing multiple concerns at once, or preparing a bike for a serious riding season.

Everything in Level 2, PLUS:

  • Full bike wash & polish

  • Bearings (hub, BB, headset) inspected, cleaned or repacked

  • Derailleur hanger adjustment(replace if necessary)

  • All cables & housing replaced

  • Customer-fitment assistance (handlebar and saddle positions)

*Pickup/Delivery service or Customer dropoff is required*

*Pre-appointment phone call and pictures of bike are required for review*

Extra Tuneup Info

  • Tuneups on E-bikes incur an additional $50 fee

  • Parts or extra services are not included.

  • Transit to your residence is only included for "Zone-A" neighborhoods. (See transit surcharges)

Assembly

Single Speed

  • Brake alignment and tune as necessary

  • Install pedals

  • Tire inflation

  • Wheel truing (on-bike)

  • Test ride and frame polish

  • Customer-fitment assistance (handlebar and saddle positions)

E-Bike

$160 - All Types

  • Unbox and inspect bike for shipping damage

  • Brake alignment and tune as necessary

  • Shift indexing and adjustments to front and rear derailleurs

  • Wire harness inspection for damage/loose connections

  • Chain wipe and lube

  • Install pedals

  • Tire inflation

  • Wheel truing (on-bike)

  • Bearing adjustments as necessary (headset, bottom bracket, and wheel bearings)

  • Test ride and frame polish

  • Customer-fitment assistance (handlebar and saddle positions)

  • Controls walkthrough/demonstration

Geared

$120 - (MTB, Road, Hybrid, etc)

Puncture Repairs

Standard Bike: Front or Rear

$30

  • Remove wheel and tire from bike

  • Inspect tire and rim for sharp objects

  • Replace tube

  • Replace rimstrip (if necessary)

  • Reinstall wheel, inflate, and test ride bike

E-Bike: Non-motor Wheel

$40

  • Applies to Mid-drive or Hub-motor E-bikes

  • Remove wheel and tire from bike

  • Inspect tire and rim for sharp objects

  • Replace tube

  • Replace rimstrip (if necessary)

  • Reinstall wheel, inflate, and test ride bike

E-Bike: Hub-Motor Wheel

$65

  • Disconnect motor, remove cable ties if necessary

  • Remove wheel and tire from bike

  • Inspect tire and rim for sharp objects

  • Replace tube

  • Replace rimstrip (if necessary)

  • Reinstall wheel, inflate, re-dress cables, and test ride bike

Extra Puncture-Repair Info

  • PLEASE NOTE - Our minimum labor charge for any job is $80.

    • Get the most bang for your buck, and advise on any other bike-needs to address.
